Working Mom

 Good morning lovely people!

I had a slightly early start this morning because today I chose to add medidation to my workout routine. A 10-minute medidation clip from Calm called Kintsugi by Tamara Levitt surely added value to my workout. I felt a clarity struck my brain which is otherwise a bit clouded with multiple thoughts rushing through almost all at once!

Once my morning routine is complete, I take on the role of a full-time scientist and a full-time mom! ๐Ÿ’ช

As soon as the clock hits 8:00 a.m., I am at my work desk, doing what my works asks of me. Mainly it includes analyzing data ๐Ÿ“Š from a lot of DOEs that are run on innovating the structure and function of semiconductor chips used in laptops. A good portion of my jon also includes making sure material goes thorugh the different operations in the fabrication factory without any hiccups. And if something were to go wrong, which they almost always do, because there are so many moving parts to making a laptop chip, I am called upon to help troubleshoot the problem or problems. Many such process scientists as myself, work in collaboration, to make sure the material completes its full manufacturing cycle to then be able to see the fruits of our labor in the form of better or enhanced yield of the semicondutor chip!

I specifically work as a scientist in planarization. To help you understqand what I mean by planarization, here is a useful Wikipedia page explaning the scientific details behind it!

I design experimetns around optimizing the best of each variable parameter in response to the knobs of the process that cannot be tweaked or changed. This is fo rmany reasons - to maintain industry standards, to gain industry leadership, to enhance functionality of existing products, to challenge the market space, to meet customer needs or the best reason - it breaks the status quo of what we expect a semiconductor chip to do! And as a scientist, when the reason behind running experiments is to experience that Eureka ๐Ÿ’ก moment, you have a very different sense of motivaiton, than just the paycheck !๐Ÿ’ฐHahaha ๐Ÿ˜…...

I have a huge advantage to play multiple roles by working from home! What a huge blessing that is!

When I go on my first break, I take on an additional role of being a full-time home maker. I make the beds, put the night pajamas in the laundry, get a snack ๐ŸŽfor myself and Lizzie, and go through the notifications from Ali's daycare at Kindercare.๐Ÿ‘ง

After my break, I am back at work with Lizzie playing in my office with her toys, and teethers, and nibbling on her snack. With that, it is back to troubleshooting factory operations especially for polisher equipments.

I know today's blog got a bit technical, but, hey, guess what! I am in the tech industry! Iam working away until my lunch break now, and will share what I do during my lunch break in my next blog!

I would love to know what you to do during the day?
Stay-at-home moms, what do your routines look like?
Working moms, what challenges do you face? What kind of work do you do? Are you in the tech industry like me?

Share your thoughts, your opinions. Speak your mind, I would love to hear from you! ๐Ÿ’–
